Elementary School Clubs and Activities
 

Relying on both school faculty and parent volunteers, Roland Park has been able to offer a wide array of after school clubs and activities to pique the interest of its students.  A sample of these clubs and activities include:

Activity Grade(s) Description
     
Art Club 1- 4 Learn the basics of different arts forms, media and techniques. Learn about artists.
     
Book Club 4 Read and discuss books with peers.
     
Chess Club 1- 5 Learn the rules and basic skills of chess. Compete against one another and in local competitions.
     
Chorus 4 – 5 Audition Required.
     
Doors Onto Dance K – 4 Creative self-expression, improvisation and performance.
Folk and Blues 3 – 5 Learn and sing songs in folk and blues traditions. Accompany songs with guitar chords (if you play guitar)
     
International Club 1 – 5 Exposure to international culture and ways.
     
Math Challenger 2 – 5 Invitation based on teacher recommendation and test scores. Enjoy math games and puzzles. Advanced math outcomes covered.
     
Orchestra K – 5 with 1+ year of study Enhance playing skills, ensemble skills note reading as part of a team. Some performances.
     
Rampage Newspaper 2 – 5 Learn about the newspaper business. Write articles and help publish school newspaper.
     
Science Club K – 2 Get excited about the world and the scientific process. Hands-on activities to teach scientific ideas.
     
Theater K – 5 Audition required. Act and perform in a theatrical production.
     
Word Fun 2 – 3 Have fun with words. Increase vocabulary and dictionary skills. Play games like Scrabble, Boggle and Charades.
